The Hamamatsu Creative Core Project (2021)

Are there any people or groups in your city whose activities spark your interest? Do they ever make you think, “Wow, aren’t they doing something creative and exciting?” or “I want to be part of that!” Have you ever taken a moment to wonder who runs those groups and where they operate? Well, this is exactly how the Hamamatsu “Creative Core Project” was initiated.

The project is aimed at promoting awareness for the various creative activities being done locally and to introduce them in an easy-to-understand manner. For 2021, we have selected 20 project activities to present, and of those 20, 5 have been nominated as “Monitored Projects”. This means that they have been spotlighted for special attention and have their projects spread via the city’s social media.

All of these projects have found new and hidden values by re-examining Hamamatsu’s charms from unprecedented perspectives. By making our residents aware of the diverse activities which make the most of local characteristics, many can naturally come into contact with these new charms in their own neighborhoods.

The five projects chosen for the “Monitored Project” have had their contents compiled into a booklet & PDF with interviews to a key person in each project. The information is available in both Japanese and English, so please feel free to check them out by clicking the link below!

1.BLUE LAKE Project

2.Shizuoka University of Art and Culture, the Chamber Music Concert
